Woman ‘seriously sexually assaulted’ while walking her dog in ‘terrifying’ attack – as cops launch manhunt

COPS have launched a manhunt after a woman was allegedly seriously sexually assaulted near a popular park. The victim had been walking her dog when she was said to have been targeted during the “terrifying” attack. She was reportedly targeted near a playpark at around 10pm on September 8. The attacker approached her, before seriously sexually assaulting her and then fleeing the area, cops said. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! He is described as being white and around 5ft 9in tall and is believed to have been wearing a black beanie during the horror. Police Scotland has urged anyone with more information on the attack, which occurred in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, to come forward. Det Sgt Raymond Giulianotti said: “This was a terrifying experience for the woman and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the individual responsible. “This attack happened very close to a busy residential area, and we are appealing for help from the local community. “If you heard or saw anything at all suspicious, or noticed a man matching the above description, please get in touch. “We’d be particularly keen to hear from anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage which could be of significance to our investigation.
