More importantly, he's still waiting for a new Ape Escape game to release. Star Wars Zero Company has a ton of operators you can choose from, almost all of which can be fully customized. One of the earliest named operators you'll gain control of is Kabb Uppercut, who is all about beating the hell out of enemies with his fists. While he may not seem as exciting a choice as Trick the clone or Cly the Mandalorian bounty hunter, Kabb can be an exceptionally strong operator if used correctly. So if you've been struggling to figure out a build for Kabb or just need a tank to support your other operators, here's our build guide for Kabb. Kabb In The Early Game Before we start, it's important to note that this isn't the be-all, end-all build for Kabb. The beauty of Zero Company is the flexibility to tailor the operators to your team's needs and playstyles. This is simply one of many potential directions to take Kabb; it just happens to be quite effective in combat. Similar to a few other named operators, you can actually tailor Kabb's Specialization at the start. This means that, outside of his unique talent, you can pick which class you want him to use. For this build, we are going to start with the Soldier Specialization since we want to lean into Kabb's melee attacks and frontline ability. As you begin spending Focus Points, prioritize Kabb's passive, Strength, and his Uppercut talent. The former increases his overall melee and grenade damage, making his close-range abilities quite strong. This also lets us scale Kabb's damage a bit more for the latter half of the game, ensuring that this brusier build lets him easily deal with any enemies that close the gap. For the latter, Kabb's Uppercut is surprisingly potent when used correctly. While it does damage to an enemy, the real benefit is being able to push whoever you strike. This allows Kabb to force enemies out of cover for the rest of the team or sometimes just knock them off the map entirely. You can also combo this when an enemy is under Overwatch, as pushing them into the field of vision will trigger this ability and give you some extra damage on this foe. Soldier also gains access to Brutal Strike, another melee ability that inflicts Daze, which forces the afflicted enemy to only use non-damaging moves during their next turn. Daze is a comically potent move, as it essentially makes that enemy useless for a turn and is quite good against tankier, humanoid enemies like the Coil. Finally, Soldier gives Kabb the Rocket Strike special action for ten Advantage. This is a nice group explosive ability that can be useful throughout all stages of the campaign. That being said, it won't be our primary focus, as we want to lean on improving Kabb's survivability and close-range effectiveness in combat. Kabb In The Mid/Late Game Once you gain the ability to add a second Specialization to each operator, we can really lean into making Kabb a tank. Because of this, you will want to snag the Heavy Specialization, as this gives him access to a bunch of useful skills that will give him more sustain in battle. Alternatively, you can also go for the Assault Specialization if you want to lean more into Kabb being a mobile beatdown machine. As for this build, picking Heavy is crucial since we will need the Conditioning passive to increase his overall health. This gives Kabb way more survivability, allowing him to rush into the enemy without fear and start punching away at anyone close. Combine this with Unstoppable to give Kabb two stacks of Retaliation, allowing him to shoot any enemy that attacks him. Bulwark is the last Soldier ability, which allows Kabb to taunt all enemies in a specific radius. This forces those enemies to attack him, making it so you can pull aggro from the rest of your team, who can freely reposition or attack those foes without worry. You will want to pair this with someone using the Medic Specialization since they can provide Medpacs and stims to keep Kabb in the fight if the encounter drags on. Speaking of, you will want to use Kabb with a Medic and two operators that focus solely on dealing damage to enemies such as Cly or Tel. These two work wonderfully with him, as Kabb provides openings for these characters to rush in, deal a ton of damage, and get out. Kabb's Uppercut also synergizes nicely with Tel's own displacement effects. This lets you forcibly move enemies out of cover nearly every turn, allowing your ranged characters to have high-percentage, chance-to-hit opportunities. When it comes to weapons, I recommend either the Repeater or Blaster Rifle. These are strong mid-range options that give Kabb some decent ranged damage, without taking a huge toll on his AP. Remember, you want to focus more on rushing in, hitting enemies, and pulling their focus on him. Try to prioritize any melee units, as these can often hit hard and can inflict Shock, which will limit your operator's movements if hit. So long as you have a Medic supporting Kabb, this former boxer is incredibly difficult to kill and can be an absolute menace at close range.
