Vulkan 1.4.368 is out as the newest weekly spec update for this high performance graphics and compute API. There are just six issues resolved in this spec update for internally raised issues. Overall a small update with just one week passing since the prior update. But there are two new extensions: VK_EXT_vertex_address_binding_unrestricted and VK_NV_internal_handle. VK_EXT_vertex_address_binding_unrestricted was drafted by Mike Blumenkrantz of Valve's Linux graphics team and prominent Mesa developer. This extension deals with vertex attribute updates: "When optimizing vertex attribute updates for a draw command which reads only from the updated offset, attribute data can be split off into a separate buffer for that draw. For this scenario, the vertex buffer data can be bound using `vkCmdBindVertexBuffers3KHR` such that only the effective offset read during vertex processing is non-negative in order to reduce memory because the calculated draw-time parameters will access valid data. Using this extension disables address validation for this scenario." The other new extension this week is the VK_NV_internal_handle vendor extension. VK_NV_internal_handle allows applications and game engines to obtain opaque internal driver handles for certain Vulkan objects. These internal NVIDIA driver handles can then be passed to external APIs that accept them for different NVIDIA-focused use-cases.All the Vulkan 1.4.368 details can be found via GitHub.
