With Plasma 6.8 stable approaching one month old, KDE developers continue ramping up work toward Plasma 6.9. Here is some of the interesting work they've been up to so far in November. This Week in Plasma is out with its newest issue to highlight KDE Plasma changes for the past seven days. Some of the highlights this week include: - Plasma 6.9 now allows choosing the position of on-screen display pop-ups if desiring an alternative location to the default: - Invoking "systemd-ask-password --no-tty" on systemd 257 and newer will now show a KDE-style password prompt. - Plasma Browser integration for the Glide browser. - Widgets added to the desktop are now sized so that they are large enough to be useful without content cut-off. - Plasma 6.9 will no longer leak a little amount of memory (kB scope) when you right-click on files or folders on the desktop. The leak happened on every right click of folders/files with plasma-desktop. - For the Plasma 6.8.3 point release is a KWin crash fix when a DisplayLink screen is connected. More details on these KDE Plasma changes for kicking off the month of November can be found via This Week in Plasma.
