The franchise is now further expanding its television footprint, as ESPN has announced that a real-time, animated telecast of Super Bowl LXI set in the Star Wars galaxy will play during the game on Sunday, February 14. Iconic characters from the franchise will be part of the championship action alongside the AFC and NFC championship teams, including C-3PO being voiced by Anthony Daniels, who has played the character since the original movie in 1977. Check out a teaser below: Titled Star Wars Funday Football, the telecast will recreate every play from Super Bowl LXI in real time, with the NFL players being depicted as animated avatars, and the Star Wars characters joining the game at key moments, along with the inclusion of Easter eggs from a galaxy far, far away. The telecast will be streamed on Disney+ and the ESPN app and air on Disney Channel and Disney XD. It is being made in collaboration with Lucasfilm, Disney, and the NFL. More to come...
