At a time when many today use AI tools for writing or fixing grammar, there is growing discussions about so-called "AI slop" – content that looks like it was written or created by AI. Now, OpenAI says that ChatGPT can learn to write just like you, making its drafts feel more human. But to do this, you will need to let the AI go through your messages. On X, the official ChatGPT account announced the Writing Style feature for ChatGPT Work. The company says that it is designed to learn how you write and reflect that style in future drafts, including factors that make your writing unique, such as capitalisation of letters or phrases. “ChatGPT Work can now pick up on what makes your writing sound like you. Your favorite phrases. Your very specific sign-off. your capitalisation quirks,” the caption said. A screenshot of ChatGPT's X post. Though the feature is limited to the agentic AI tool ChatGPT Work. This includes Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, and SharePoint. Once you give access to these apps to ChatGPT Work, it can go through our emails and messages to understand how you write. OpenAI says that then the AI can carry those writing patterns into whatever it writes next. You need to connect apps like Gmail to make use of this feature. While OpenAI does not specify how this feature works, it is likely that the AI uses natural language processing. Here, the AI goes through your writing samples to understand patterns and habits – vocabulary, tone, sentence structure or punctuation. The text is then broken into smaller parts to understand your word choices, emotional tones or other traits in your writing. Then the AI can start following these patterns that makes the text feel like it was written by you.ChatGPT Work Writing Styles availability As per OpenAI, Writing Styles are available on the web for all paid plans with access to ChatGPT Work.
