Loulou Bistro Milsons Point

Good Food hat15/20Updated October 26, 2026,first published November 11, 2024An homage to French gastronomy. What began as a bistro, traiteur and boulangerie in Milsons Point has now expanded into a line of restaurants, cafes and grab-and-gos spanning Martin Place, North Sydney and even Sydney airport, but thankfully the dining experience at the unashamedly classic original hasn’t diminished. Cooking remains tight, and the use of top produce a focus. Take the signature fish stuffed with scallop mousse. On our visit it’s market-fresh monkfish, not the usual John dory, but the sauce champagne, flecked with roe, is glorious as always. It’s wise to add house-made bread to mop it up, especially if you’re also getting sauce au poivre with your steak frites; choose from four cuts, also available with bearnaise or Cafe de Paris butter. A sweet finish? The petites madeleines with fig-leaf chantilly deliver six perfect bites. Service is warm, and the pretty room is comfortable, with plenty of outdoor seating if you’ve got a pup in tow. If you don’t want to commit to a full meal, you can grab croissants and charcuterie from next door’s boulangerie and traiteur during the day. Good to know: There are always decent specials, such as bottomless poulet frites and a $59 two-course prix fixe lunch, so check the website.Good Food reviews are booked anonymously and paid independently.
