It has a 12.1 inch, 2560 x 1600 pixel, 120 Hz display with up to 800 nits brightness and support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10. And there’s also a massive speaker on the back. In fact, Lenovo says this tablet actually has 9 JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos sound.Liliputing first broke news about this tablet when it won an IF Design Guide Award earlier this year. In June Lenovo officially launched the tablet, saying it would be available soon in select markets. And now the Lenovo Legion Tab Plus Gen 2 is available in the US for $400.The tablet is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor and the version available in the US has 8GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Lenovo may offer different configurations in other markets, with as little as 6GB of memory and as much as 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. But its stand out feature is clearly the speaker system, which Lenovo says is a “Cinematic Audio System with Dedicated Bass Units.” Thanks to a Bluetooth speaker mode, you can even pair the speaker with other devices, allowing you to play music from your hone or other devices. Overall it’s tough to say whether this is an Android tablet with a high-quality speaker, or a portable speaker that just happens to have a tablet built in.The tablet measures 278.8 x 181.1 x 6.8mm (10.98″ x 7.13″ x 0.27″) at its thinnest point, and 22.7mm (0.89″) at its thickest (thanks to the speaker bump), and it weighs about 775 grams (1.71 pounds).Other features include a microSD card reader with support for up to 2TB of removable storage, a 13MP rear camera with auto-focus, an 8MP fixed-focus front camera, a 10,200 mAh battery, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port. The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 ships with Android 16 and should receive at least two major OS updates and four years of security updates. The tablet comes with a 45W USB-C charger, but it supports up to 68W fast charging if you want to bring your own higher-power charger. And the tablet supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.There’s also a built-in kickstand that rotates so you can prop up the tablet in landscape or portrait orientation, or even hang it from a hook. There’s also support for optional accessories including a Lenovo Tab Pen Plus stylus and Lenovo Sleeve carrying case with a shoulder strap.press releaseThis article was first published June 16, 2026 and most recently updated July 16, 2026.
