SPAIN’S stacked superstar squad got their hands on the World Cup trophy last night following a 1-0 extra time victory over holders Argentina. While fans would be expecting to see a shiny medal hanging from their neck, they did not bet on miniature trophies. Every member of Spain’s squad was handed their own smaller World Cup trophy to take back to Europe. Replica trophies are becoming more common after major tournaments. It meant there were suddenly more than 20 World Cups dotted around the dressing room as players proudly held them aloft for snaps.
