‘Horrendous’: Coronation Street star in tears after missing vital cancer appointment

It was an emotional day for Tracy (Picture: Instagram/tracy.k.shaw) Former Coronation Street Tracy Shaw hit a bump in the road yesterday as she courageously continues to battle cancer. Taking to her Instagram story yesterday, Tracy spoke about an upsetting incident that had seen her attempt to attend a hospital appointment, but find herself unable to find a parking space. ‘So, my update is I’m sat in the car park and I missed the appointment,’ she tearfully began the clip. ‘I rang them and they said because it was the first appointment, they’re not sure if the doctor can see me now. ‘I arrived really early and I’ve been driving around the car park now for 45 minutes. ‘The advice I was given was: ‘Could you go out and park on the road?’ and I said, ‘The likelihood of me finding a space is so slim.’ Everyone who knows or comes to Royal Berkshire, knows there’s a real problem for finding a space. Tracy missed her appointment… (Picture: Instagram/tracy.k.shaw) ‘The anxiety it’s brought up is horrendous and the one appointment I’m looking forward to having, I couldn’t make. I haven’t got anyone to drop me off. Luca’s [Tracy’s son] gone back to Uni now. ‘This happens all the time… I was late 45 minutes for chemo, once. Car parks, hey?’ Later on, Tracy again took to her Instagram story after recovering from the emotional ordeal. Oh my god, carpark gate!’ she began, in much higher spirits. ‘Yes, so the appointment didn’t go ahead. By the time I’d gone round, bearing in mind I’d arrived half an hour early for my appointment, I was going around and around the car park, three floors, and then I tried the ‘stay still because somebody will come out’ business. Tracy updated fans later when she was in much higher spirits (Picture: Instagram/tracy.k.shaw) ‘The appointment was the first appointment of the day, so I was like: ‘this is not going to be a problem, I’ll just arrive early, go in, get a coffee and hang around, I’ll just get there early’ ‘It wasn’t to be today, it just wasn’t to be. Turning her thoughts to how the situation could be improved, Tracy floated an idea that she’d received from a follower. ‘So I’ve had one great suggestion, how about a campaign for cancer patients to either have a badge or have car parking spaces? No, it’ll never be enough, but it’s a start. What do you think?’ Signing the video off, Tracy showed love to everyone who’d reached out with messages after her initial story: ‘I’m just so grateful for you guys. You’re amazing.’ Tracy posted last week, thanking her followers for their support. ‘Hello you amazingly beautiful followers, THANKYOU’ she began the caption. ‘Phase 1 done. Meeting the surgeon this week, plus a scan on tumours again. ‘Extremely long reel! Sticking to my word that I’m not a pro at social media just grateful I can communicate with you on this platform, I’m not on facebook or another social media platforms, so if you get a message on any other format it’s not from me. ‘I appreciate all you’re messages , love and support, couldn’t of done phase one without your cancer warriors.
