Its design contrasts the more eccentric looks the vehicle has featured throughout the crime-fighting franchise. A source said the Batman movies are known for their 'ambitious' scenes but the scene where the accident took place 'went horribly wrong'. The souped-up muscle car Batmobile which featured in The Batman directed by Matt Reeves Robert Pattinson suits up as Batman ahead of the sequel which is set to be released in February 2028'People working on the set said the Batmobile had run someone over. Filming was stopped after the accident,' they told The Sun.'These kinds of action films always come with some level of risk and this accident served as a reminder of that.'Alongside Mr Pattinson, 40, Colin Farrell, Scarlett Johansson and Andy Serkis will also star in the film which is set to be released in February 2028. Filming for the sequel was also briefly paused as Mr Reeves stepped away from the film for personal reasons and was replaced by Ocean's Eleven director Steven Soderbergh. In a statement, a DC Studios spokesperson said Mr Soderbergh approached Mr Reeves about stepping in to help film the movie while he attends to a 'family matter'.'Matt and Steven will work closely together with the actors and crew to fulfil Matt's vision of the film,' they added.Warner Bros have been approached for comment.
