GTA 6 Getting Two Custom PS5 Controllers That Look Cool

Today, during PlayStation’s latest State of Play, we got our first look at something unexpected: Two new Grand Theft Auto 6-themed DualSense PS5 controllers, one in black and one in white. According to Sony, these controllers will be available for a limited time and in “limited quantities globally.” Hopefully that doesn’t mean they’re impossible for me to get my hands on. Both the black and white versions of the GTA 6 controllers will be available to pre-order on September 10. Each controller will cost $85. The controllers will officially launch on November 19, GTA 6′s release date. Sony says both controllers will be available through the PlayStation Direct store as well as at “participating retailers.” You can see the controllers below. ©PlayStation / Kotaku ©PlayStation / Kotaku Both controllers feature engraved palm trees on the grips and the GTA 6 “VI” logo plastered on the touchpad. On the back, as shown in the State of Play, is the Grand Theft Auto franchise logo. Both the white and black controllers feature pink highlights on the D-pad and face buttons, which look very sharp. As a big fan of pink and pink controllers in particular, these look wonderful to me. I’m not a huge fan of the big VI logo on the touchpad, but everything else looks great. It is a bit awkward, as pointed out by fans already online, that GTA 6 is getting physical controllers but not a physical disc release. You might not be able to buy and hold a copy of GTA 6 in your hands, but Sony and Take-Two will let you spend $5 more than a digital copy of the $80 game to let you hold one of these GTA-inspired controllers. That’s…something, I guess? Sony says both the black and white GTA 6 controllers feature a “shimmering, color-shifting finish.” We saw some of that in the controller’s State of Play reveal teaser, which you can see below.
