Conan O'Brien tries to crack Bollywood, leaves Ali Fazal-Richa Chadha stunned

Conan O’Brien is making a case for himself as Bollywood’s next potential star, but Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are not exactly buying it. A new promo for the upcoming season of Conan O’Brien Must Go features the American comedian pitching himself to the actors, only for the conversation to turn into an impromptu audition of sorts. His inability to speak Hindi, however, becomes an immediate problem – until Conan offers his own rather unusual solution.Richa and Ali feature in the latest season of the HBO Max travel series, which premiered in 2024. In the newly released promo, Conan asks the actors whether he has what it takes to become a Bollywood star. What follows is a playful exchange about his credentials, culminating in Conan attempting to prove his Hindi skills in the only way he apparently knows how."I haven’t become a Bollywood star. Do you think I have what it takes?" Conan asks."Everyone can dream," Richa replies. Ali then tells him, "You can’t just come in, pitch that you want to be a star and that too somewhere you don’t really belong." Richa adds, "We are huge fans of you but I don’t think you are Bollywood material." Conan, however, is quick to make his case. "I can sing, I can dance and play sitar with one hand," he says.The actors then ask him a more basic question: "Can you speak Hindi?" Conan admits that he cannot. But instead of backing down, he tells them, "I sing Hindi." He then breaks into a song, singing, "Namaste, mera naam Conan hai," while dancing. The unexpected performance leaves both Richa and Ali momentarily speechless.Watch the promo here:The promo has also sparked a reaction online, with viewers enjoying Conan's attempt at a Bollywood audition.
