NewsUK News A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a double-decker bus ploughed into a house on a coastal road. Emergency services were scrambled to Torquay Road, Devon, after a bus filled with passengers slammed into a home on Monday. A five-year-old boy from Torquay, who was riding on the bus, was rushed to Bristol Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. A man in his 60s from Torbay has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! He remains in police custody while enquiries into the horror are ongoing. Ambulance crews assessed a further 14 passengers at the scene of the smash. Emergency medics concluded that the other passengers did not require hospital treatment. The road was closed in both directions for a total of seven hours in the wake of the smash. Roads policing officers conducted a forensic examination of the scene and the bus was recovered. Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
