Pervert pensioner, 70, sent star athlete a picture of his privates during stalking campaign

A PERVERT pensioner sent a star athlete a pic of his privates during a stalking campaign. Simon Birdseye, 70, bombarded the telly presenter with social media messages before emailing her the offensive snap. He sent numerous Facebook messages which became increasingly sexual before tracking down her personal email address and sending the unwanted snap. Birdseye admitted sending a photograph of his genitals with intent “to cause alarm, distress or humiliation” between February 2023 and November 2025. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! The victim, who cannot be identified, told a court his obsessive behaviour left her anxious, looking over her shoulder and changing her routine as she feared for her safety. She added: “I am far less trusting with strangers which has changed my character in a way I don’t like.” District Judge Matthew Bone said Birdseye’s deliberate actions had caused “serious harm to a sports woman going about her lawful business”. Birdseye, of Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk, admitted sending a photograph of his genitals with intent “to cause alarm, distress or humiliation”. He was jailed for eight weeks, suspended for 18 months, by Ipswich magistrates and got an order banning him from contacting his victim.
