Celebrity Traitors star forced to scrap ‘tell-all’ podcast after BBC warning

| Senior TV Reporter Published November 7, 2026 3:57pm Updated November 7, 2026 3:57pm Joanne McNally spilt the beans on the Celebrity Traitors behind-the-scenes in a podcast episode (Picture: BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry/PA Wire) Joanne McNally posted through the Celebrity Traitors run of episodes, but had also planned to dedicate a tell-all podcast to her time in Ardross Castle. The comedian, 43, spilt the beans on the behind-the-scenes sausage-making of the BBC parlour game show, but ultimately had to scrap the episode because it was in breach of her contract. The celebrities and civilians alike sign non-disclosure agreements for their appearance on the show, making spoilers of any sort an absolute no-no (obviously). But McNally might not have read the fine print before she recorded the special episode of her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, which is now not going to make it to air. Ahead of the Celebrity Traitors finale, she teased the bonus episode about her time as a haphazard Faithful, which got her very close to the final. But then no episode came and McNally’s podcast producer Joe Attewell explained that the ‘tell-all’ was ditched after the BBC pointed out it would be violating the terms of her contract. ‘Everything that had been spoken about on the podcast was a violation of contracts’ (Picture: BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry) To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video He said: ‘I think it is now, eight to nine thousand messages we’ve had, and rightly so, asking where that promised bonus extra episode went that was going to come out on Sunday. ‘We recorded that on Friday afternoon. It was a tell-all, behind the scenes and all about Joanne’s experience on Celebrity Traitors.’ McNally’s co-host Vogue Williams said she spent ‘ages’ researching and writing questions for it, adding: ‘I was finally getting to interview McNally and I was very dusty, hungover, but I was still there smiling.’ Attewell said the episode was quickly edited to be released after the finale, but joked: ‘Then late on Friday evening, I was bundled roughly into the back of a BBC van. ‘They told me in no uncertain terms that just about everything that had been spoken about on the podcast was a violation of contracts that had been signed.’ Metro understands there was no threat of legal action from the BBC and it was a tongue-in-cheek reference on the podcast. McNally’s co-host Vogue Williams said she spent ‘ages’ researching and writing questions for it (Picture: My Therapist Ghosted Me) McNally then joked: ‘We’d be taken to the gallows. Sometimes you’ve got to protect the privacy of the game and I understand that now.’ Maya Jama has already revealed a bit of the behind-the-scenes shenanigans she got up to with McNally, in a recent social media post. ‘I love you my ball of fun,’ she wrote. ‘Most of our time together wasn’t included because we spoke about everything other than the game and hid in the toilets telling secrets. ‘Fun fact about halfway through everyone stopped having their one drink a night so they could focus, so we sneakily drank theirs. Cling, cling,’ she said, tagging McNally’s social media account. It is understood that the stars are not permitted to go to the toilet together, and fellow 2026 contestant Joe Lycett has referenced being chaperoned on trips to the loo.
