Sign in to your TheGamer account A reliable Ubisoft insider has reported that two new Assassin's Creed games are in the works, including Codename Mars that will be set in Ancient Rome. Considering it wasn't that long ago that Ubisoft came out and revealed two massive mainline Assassin's Creed games in a row, a remake of one of the most popular entries, and a bunch of spinoffs, it's weird how little we currently know about the future of the series. All that's been outright confirmed is the awesome-sounding Assassin's Creed Hexe, the Netflix show, and some mysterious side projects. Of course, there's no doubt that the studio is already hard at work on whatever big game in the series comes after Hexe and the recently wrapped-up Black Flag remake, but we don't have any idea what it could be. That's just changed thanks to a reliable Ubisoft insider who claims that two more games are in the works, including a mainline entry that sounds pretty massive. Assassin's Creed Codename Mars Details Revealed, As Well As A New Mobile Game It Looks Like We're Finally Getting Our First Ancient Rome Game As pointed out by Redditor Gyatto- on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, reliable Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed insider xj0nathan recently shared a video that details two upcoming games in the series. The first, and undeniably the biggest, is a project that goes by the codename "Mars", which a reliable source tells him is set in Ancient Rome. The insider sadly doesn't have many more details on Codename Mars outside of the time period and project name, but it is interesting considering the Netflix series is confirmed to be set at the same time. It's not hard to imagine the two tying into each other a bit, and I can already picture a very similar experience to Odyssey. The other game that was revealed by xj0nathan is a mobile game set in Jerusalem called Assassin's Creed Pocket, which will apparently have similar gameplay to Valhalla's Mastery Challenges. While another smaller Assassin's Creed game isn't that exciting personally, the claim that it'll have similar visuals to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown does make it a bit more interesting. Assassin's Creed Odyssey Released October 15, 2018 ESRB M for Mature: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language Developer(s) Ubisoft Quebec Publisher(s) Ubisoft Genre(s) Action RPG, Open-World
