She raised $6,800 and helped distribute 100 “blessing bags” to people experiencing homelessness in Fort Wayne. The bags were packed with everyday necessities, including food, toiletries and other essential supplies.There was nothing extravagant about the donations. That was precisely the point. For someone without stable housing or reliable access to basic necessities, something as simple as food, personal-care products or another everyday essential can become an important source of relief.Kleinrichert's mother has also witnessed how quickly donated supplies can be used, underscoring the continuing need in the community.HER MISSION GOES BEYOND THE HOLIDAYSFor Kleinrichert, helping people cannot be reduced to a once-a-year holiday gesture. Her donation drives continue throughout the year, with the goal of making essential supplies available when people need them most.Before the initiative took shape as a continuing effort, Kleinrichert was already finding ways to serve her community. Among her earlier efforts was collecting hundreds of boxes of Girl Scout cookies for The Rescue Mission.Those smaller acts eventually grew into something larger, a sustained effort that brought together her family, friends and members of the wider Fort Wayne community.SHE ASKS PEOPLE TO GIVE MORE THAN MONEYOne of the defining features of Kleinrichert's approach is its simplicity.
