THE countdown is on for one of the biggest Christmas toy sales of the year – and parents will soon be able to snap up the seasonal steals. Prices are expected to be cut by up to 50 per cent on must-have toys ahead of the festive rush. Expected to begin from mid-September onwards, some of the biggest brands – including Fisher Price, Barbie, LEGO and Pokemon – will feature massive discounts on best-selling toys and playsets. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! Starting with Asda, the popular Big Toy Rollback event is believed to begin in just a few days’ time, with sales expected to start from September 7. While Morrisons will feature not one, but two major sales in the coming months, the first of which is said to launch on October 5. Tesco often launches discounts across hundreds of big-name brands ahead of the festive season, although these prices are held exclusively for Clubcard members. So, if parents want to make the most of the savings, it’s best they sign-up to Clubcard rewards ahead of the anticipated sale on September 14. Aldi tends to hold one special toy event in its stores across the country, with discounted prices lasting around a week. This year, the budget retailer is estimated to hold the major sale on October 25, allowing parents plenty of time to tick some toys off their children’s wish list. Most read in Money In October, both Sainsbury’s and Smyths Toys also tend to hold their toy sales, with Sainsbury’s slashing prices by almost 50 per cent. There will also be big savings on board games, soft toys, puzzles, action figures and craft kits, perfect for keeping the kids busy over the Christmas holidays. The dates for both are expected to begin on October 21. Argos is another retailer which is believed to begin its sales in less than two weeks’ time, starting from September 9. Lastly, one of the most exciting deals of the year remains B&M’s 3 for £20 Toy Sale, covering almost every toy available in stores from December 4. With big savings across toys, electronics, dolls and outdoor toys, there is bound to be a gift perfect for any kid this Christmas.
