Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. This Mass Effect Day, November 7, is going to be one of the most sombre in the series’ history. BioWare has been closed, and the new Mass Effect game we’ve been waiting six years for has been canceled. There is a silver lining, but it’s a slim one. There is more Mass Effect merch coming, and it looks like it will get a full reveal on N7 Day. Youtooz Youtooz, which has previously turned Garrus, Tali, Legion, and Wrex into its signature figures, has teased the addition of three more characters to its collection. “I wish I had more time to study all of this,” the somewhat poignant post reads, paired with a sad emoji. In typical Youtooz fashion, it has shared silhouettes of the upcoming figures before giving them a full reveal, but fans of the series will be able to figure out who they are relatively easily. From left to right, you have Mordin, Joker, and presumably Liara. It might be Samara, but since Liara doesn’t have a Youtooz figure yet, and the quote in the post is something she says in the original game, then it seems almost certain that third figure will be everyone’s favorite Asari. The Figures Will Likely Get Their Full Reveal On Mass Effect Day Bioware There’s no indication of when the figures will get their full reveal and go on sale, but with the tease coming just four days before Mass Effect Day, it seems likely, almost certain, that’s when we’ll see them in all their glory. They will hopefully go up for pre-order on the same day, and will likely cost $29.99, which is the going rate for a standard Youtooz figure. While Youtooz figures don’t tend to be quite as popular as their Funko Pop and Nendoroid competitors, I would not hesitate to pick these up if you want them once the opportunity arises. There’s a very real chance this could be the last official new Mass Effect merch we ever get. Between licensing deals and the manufacturing process, figures like these take a long time to manifest. The deal with EA and BioWare has presumably been in place for years, and the figures have already been made, hence them still being released even though Mass Effect is no more. There is a chance that this isn’t the last time we get new Mass Effect merch. Even though BioWare has been closed and the new game canceled, EA still owns the Mass Effect IP and will likely want to profit off it if it can find ways to do so. The Mass Effect TV show is also still in production, somehow, so even though we might never get another Mass Effect game, there is something set in its universe to look forward to, for now.
