In the context of public opinion, Ye and some members of his circle are controversial, and for good reason. In the context of the fashion industry, Ye is employing power players who can execute his desired minimalist-hype clothing at his desired prices — Charney with his production résumé and Rubshinskiy with the ability to translate subculture into product.
