Sign in to your TheGamer account Xbox Game Pass has been slamming players with excellent offerings over the past few months, with the most recent August lineup being nothing to scoff at thanks to great games like Grounded 2, Beast of Reincarnation, and Firewatch. Although we're still getting new additions this month, Xbox Game Pass has already been confirmed to get four brand-new games arriving free for subscribers this September. While you'll still have to wait a bit for Xbox to officially unveil all the free games arriving on Game Pass next month, these four brand-new releases have already been confirmed to launch day one on the platform, as reported by platforms like TrueAchievements. Every Game Pass Release Confirmed For September The first game coming to Game Pass this September will be Moonlight 2 for Game Pass Ultimate members, offering a sequel to the hit indie game that recently went free to claim in preparation for the new release. Although Moonlighter 2 has already been available for free through Xbox Game Pass, you'll be able to experience everything it has to offer with the full release of the dungeon-crawling shop simulator on September 2nd. Only a day afterwards, members of the same tier will be able to play another hit sequel with SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed on September 3, which brings the superhero-themed party racing game back with an expanded scope that can be enjoyed with up to 8 players this time around, alongside plenty of new gameplay features to look forward to. Skipping forward a few weeks, September 22 will bring the 2025 release of the Dune Awakening survival game to Xbox for the first time, allowing players on Game Pass Ultimate or Premium to hop into its bleak sci-fi world. On top of the standard offerings, the console release will also coincide with a new story mode coming out on the same day. The last title that's been confirmed to get a day-one release next month is Minecraft Dungeons 2 on September 29, available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. With the dungeon crawler adding new locations, quests, and two worlds to jump between as you fight through its hordes of enemies, the release has plenty to add to its predecessor's formula when it drops. Xbox Has Several More Free Offerings Live Right Now Thankfully, Xbox recently dropped several free games to play regardless of your Game Pass subscription over the past week, offering beloved releases and trials for brand-new games like the Gears of War E-Day open beta between August 13th and August 17th. Despite still being in the dark about the full rotating selection of games coming to Xbox Game Pass this September, it's already shaping up to be a pretty stacked month when it comes to free games that can be enjoyed either on your console or even your PC, not to mention the hidden gems scattered throughout the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
