Following the horror, which took place in May 2022 before a ban on XL Bullies was introduced, the dog was destroyed. Caernarfon Crown Court heard Fong later wrote on Facebook: “Cookie didn’t attack Keven. “He’s a big boy and plays too rough.” She also allegedly said the male dog was “not aggressive in the slightest” and “just thinks he’s still a small pup”. Most read in The Sun Prosecutor Mark Connor said he was also on a methadone prescription and taking blood thinners. He added: “All of that was known to Chanel Fong and he had been left on his own to deal with two powerful XL bully dogs.” The court heard Fong’s other dog – a female named Rogue – was “in season”, which could have led to issues with Cookie. Home Office pathologist Dr Matthew Lyall said Keven weighed 10st and had drugs in his system at the time of his death. He added: “It’s likely death would have occurred within a small number of minutes.” Fong has denied being the owner or in charge of a dangerously out of control American XL Bully which caused injury resulting in death. Her partner – Keven’s son – was not at the house at the time. The trial continues.
