(Photo: Jitender)An Anganwadi worker and her two children were found dead at their home in Haryana's Fatehabad district, with police suspecting that the woman allegedly poisoned and killed her children before taking her own life.The case came to light after the bodies were recovered from a water tank inside the house, while a video purportedly recorded by the woman before her death surfaced, alleging harassment by her husband.The incident took place in Mehuwala village of Fatehabad district and has sent shockwaves through the area.The deceased woman has been identified as Sudesh, who worked as an Anganwadi worker. Her two children were also found dead alongside her. According to police, preliminary investigation suggests that the woman allegedly mixed poison in water and gave it to her two children before drowning them in a water tank built inside the house.She is then suspected to have consumed poison herself and jumped into the same tank.SHE WAS IN MENTAL DISTRESS: BROTHER The woman's brother, Praveen, alleged that Sudesh had been under severe mental distress due to her husband's alleged drug addiction and harassment.Based on his complaint, police have registered a case against the husband, Sandeep Machra, under Sections 103(1) and 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).According to the family, Sudesh had married Sandeep in a love marriage in 2014, and the couple had two children.Relatives claimed that before the incident, she had uploaded a video and a social media reel in which she allegedly spoke about the difficulties she was facing in her marriage.Praveen told police that Sandeep had called him on August 6, informing him that Sudesh and the two children were missing.The family began searching for them before they were later found dead inside the water tank at their residence.HUSBAND NOT AT HOME WHEN INCIDENT TOOK PLACEPolice said Sandeep was not at home when the incident occurred. According to investigators, he had gone to the railway station to distribute drinking water to passengers, while his mother had travelled to Sirsa for medical treatment.Sub-Inspector Vijender Pilania of Bhattu police station said the woman's mobile phone contained a video allegedly recorded before her death, which forms part of the investigation.Police have arrested the husband and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Further action will be taken after the post-mortem report and forensic evidence are analysed.
