Where to Find the Fastest Delivery for the iPhone Duo

Apple sure underestimated how many people would scramble for an iPhone Duo. Tsunamis of anticipation over the first folding iPhone had built up over years, long before Apple made it official and announced it on October 16, 2026, but how many people would rush to buy a smartphone that starts at $1,999?It took hardly a day to find out. Perhaps it had something to do with us declaring it the best folding phone yet. During the week prior to the iPhone Duo’s October 23 launch day, when those with a taste for Apple’s latest phone could preorder it on Apple.com, the ship date list stretched into January as people gobbled up the early batch of available units. And on launch day itself, local news everywhere ran story after story about long lines outside Apple stores, with many going home empty-handed before closing time as the Duo quickly sold out.You can walk into an Apple store and try your luck, although I wouldn’t count on walking out with one in hand. Many Apple stores I’ve checked in big cities have none available for pickup. You can still order one online at Apple, as long as you’re fine with waiting until January 25 to get yours. You can find the iPhone Duo at Best Buy for Verizon and AT&T. Switching up the color between Night Sky (black) and Star White, or the storage capacity (256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB), or the carrier, does not change the December 22 shipping or pickup date.Heading to your local cellular carrier’s retail store may be your best bet for landing an iPhone Duo before Christmas, but like with the Apple Store, I wouldn’t count on it. Verizon casts a wide net for its estimated ship date: December 12–30. Those ordered from T-Mobile won’t make the Christmas cut. As of today, the backordered phone shows a ship date of December 31-January 6. And AT&T may have the longest ship time of all, as its ordering pages offer shipping “As soon as January 6,” which hints that the 6th is the earliest you may expect your AT&T-linked iPhone Duo, but that it may come later.Interestingly, no matter how I configured each one in any color and storage combination, the estimated ship dates at all three carriers stayed the same. In past years at Apple launches, devices with higher capacities (and correspondingly higher price tags) tended to be available sooner. Not so this time with the iPhone Duo. Just remember that if you buy a phone from one network, it’s not guaranteed to work on another. If you want an unlocked iPhone Duo that’ll work on any cellular network, you’ll have to order it from Apple and practice patience until it ships in early 2027.Walmart has listed product pages for the iPhone Duo since Apple announced it, but I’ve yet to see anybody actually able to order one there. I’ve kept a near-daily eye on the Walmart page, though, and every combination of color, carrier, and storage option has been out of stock and unavailable to backorder since the iPhone Duo’s debut. If you’re on the fence, don’t expect the waitlist to shorten while you wring your hands. Occasionally, ship dates for hot, newly released devices move up as retailers receive new batches, but I’ve been keeping a close eye on the iPhone Duo for the past three weeks and haven’t seen that happen at any retailer, including Apple itself. The ship dates we’ve provided here are current as of today. They can only get longer from here.Shop the iPhone DuoMatt Jancer has been in the industry for 15 years and lives in his favorite urban death maze, New York City.
