CORONATION Street is set for another week of disruption when ITV broadcasts a football match during the soap’s regular broadcast slot. Viewers are facing a further change to their usual schedule, with more sport getting in the way of the latest events from Weatherfield, following the major World Cup shakeup. In February 2025, ITV confirmed it was launching the ‘soap power hour’ scheduling pattern for Emmerdale and Coronation Street. But due to a number of major sporting events – including the recent 2026 World Cup – this has not been the case for months on end. The good news is that Coronation Street is being broadcast in its usual 8.30pm slot four out of five nights this week. Episodes are also available to stream on ITVX from 7am on the same day. There will be no episode on Wednesday, August 12, as ITV1 is showing a clash between Manchester United and Leeds at Dublin’s Croke Park from 7pm to 10pm.
