A transformer burst near the Amazon office in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning, injuring a pedestrian and triggering panic among people in the area.The incident occurred around 9.30 am when the RMU, a part of the medium-voltage power distribution network, burst near the footpath. A pedestrian, identified as Mohammad Afroz, was injured in the incident.According to the information available, Afroz was walking on the footpath close to Bagalur Cross when the sudden burst occurred. He jumped and rolled on the footpath following the incident.He was taken to a hospital for treatment and is said to be safe. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Yelahanka Old Town Police Station.BESCOM OFFICIALS MONITOR SITUATIONBengaluru Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) officials said the RMU is part of a medium-voltage power distribution network and that such bursting incidents are rare.
