Val Chmerkovskiy and Carrie Ann Inaba Filmed Speaking During ‘DWTS’ Commercial Break: Here’s What They Said

Val Chmerkovskiy and Carrie Ann Inaba just came face-to-face for the first time since Val’s suspension on Dancing With the Stars, and for the most part, everyone ignored the elephant in the room. However! The pair managed to have a moment together during a commercial break last night, which was caught on camera by audience member and beauty/entertainment reporter Kirbie Johnson. While you can’t hear their conversation in the video, any amateur lip-reader can see that Val clearly says “I’m so sorry” to Carrie Ann, before she graciously accepts his apology and they say a few kind words to one another.Val spoke to People about their chat post-show, explaining, “It felt cathartic relief, you know? I think it was just really important for me to make sure that she feels safe and knows that, firsthand from me, I want nothing but love for her. I want nothing but joy for her and as much as the world might say otherwise, I want her to know how I feel, not how others want me to feel, but how I genuinely feel. I will have nothing but love for Carrie Ann. I have nothing but respect for what she has to say.”Val was initially suspended from DWTS for making an “Oscar Slap” comment after Carrie Ann critiqued his wife Jenna Johnson for incorporating a lift into her routine. Ahead of last night’s show, Carrie Ann confirmed that she and Jenna had been able to hash things out, writing on Instagram, “I think it’s important for everyone to know that Jenna and I hugged it out after the Super Bowl show. Jenna was an absolute professional about it, and two women worked through the moment. It came to my attention later that Jenna was deeply hurt.”Glad/relieved everyone is getting along again!
