I chalked it up to my running schedule and the inevitable passage of time until I realized how old my mattress really was. My IKEA mattress had moved with me to every apartment in my twenties and now cross-country from Houston to Brooklyn in my thirties—I wholly advise you not to do this. In shopping around for a better mattress, Saatva came up time and time again. And not just from those Tara Lapinksi commercials during the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. You won Tara; I got the Classic Mattress and wish I had sooner.I sleep so much more soundly than before and no longer start my mornings with the thought that ah, that doesn’t feel right. Right now, Saatva mattresses are more affordable than ever, thanks to a PopMech-exclusive Black Friday/Cyber Monday code. Starting today and going through November 30, you can take 20 percent off orders of $1,000 or more, which applies to every mattress on its site.Shop Saatva Mattresses On SaleWhile I can’t speak to every model, I’ll gladly wax poetic on the Saatva Classic Mattress. As a restless side sleeper, I went with the Luxury Firm comfort level and 14-inch height. Why we ever got into the minimalist squat platform beds, I’ll never know. Our plushy high mattress now feels like a fancy hotel room that’s out of our tax bracket. The Luxury Firm keeps me supported and keeps my fiancée from feeling my frequent thrashing and position changes.I’ll be honest—a mattress is the last thing I want to spend on. They’re expensive and not a fun purchase. However, I wish I'd bought this sooner instead of enduring four years of being convinced my body was over the hill at the tender age of 30.If this sounds familiar, I implore you to take advantage of this Saatva Black Friday Sale. The code applies automatically at checkout when you use one of our links. Add your preferred mattress to the cart and proceed to checkout. You can save well over $1,000, depending on the mattress, and you may just feel like you turned back the hands of time.Saatva Labor Day DealsDanny Perez is a Reviews Editor for Popular Mechanics with a focus on men's style, gear, and home goods.
