US strikes Iran after two troops killed; Iran hits Kuwait bases

The US military said that it carried out an eighth consecutive night of strikes against Iran, with targets including units reportedly behind the attack that killed two American troops in Jordan. The Iranian army announced on Sunday that it targeted two US bases in Kuwait with drones, hitting an ammunition depot at Camp Udairi and Patriot radar and air surveillance systems at the Ali Al Salem Air Base. Tehran had also launched fresh strikes in Jordan. Gaza's civil defence and hospitals said Israeli attacks on Saturday killed 11 people across the territory, among them three children and their parents. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun will meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at 13:30 GMT after Aoun arrives in Washington, where he will meet with his US counterpart, Donald Trump, this week.
