TTD sets one-week deadline to complete preparations for Brahmotsavam

With the annual ‘Salakatla Brahmotsavam’ of Lord Venkateswara just two weeks away, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has stepped up preparations by directing its engineering officials to complete all pending civil works within a week to ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage for devotees.TTD Additional Executive Officer (EO) Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary reviewed the progress of engineering works at Tirumala during a meeting with officials at the Sudharma conference hall on Tuesday. The review covered civil, electrical and water works being undertaken ahead of the nine-day annual festival scheduled to commence from September 15.TTD in-charge Chief Engineer Manoharam briefed the Additional EO on the status of various works, including the whitewashing and painting of the main temple, mada streets and galleries, repairs and development works, barricading arrangements and the restoration of grills around the Pushkarini.Officials also apprised him of the fitness of vehicles deployed during the festival, water storage levels in various dams, electrical illumination and facility management services at guest and accommodation complexes. While most of the works have been completed, several others are in the final stages, the officials informed.Mr. Chowdary directed the engineering officials to complete all civil works in time, stressing that no pending work should cause inconvenience to devotees during the festival period. He also reviewed the progress of works at the Sri Venkateswara Museum, which is scheduled to be inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during the annual Brahmotsavam.Superintending Engineers Venugopal, Venkateswarlu, Executive Engineers Srinivasulu, Sudhakar and other engineering officials attended the meeting.
