Trump’s failed press secretary Katie Zacharia reminds people she is ‘ruthlessly loyal’ to president

Former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia has insisted she remains “ruthlessly loyal” to President Donald Trump, despite leaving his administration after just five days. Zacharia, 41, made the comment in an interview with Newsweek in which she was full of praise for the president, saying she had seen him”working around the clock with world leaders – bringing hostages home and brokering peace – while speaking to crowds of Americans to win the midterms and deliver for the people.”“No one has carried the water for the Republican Party and America First like he has for over a decade, all without losing the common touch,” she enthused.Responding to a news story about the interview on X headlined around the loyalty line, she wrote simply: “Facts.” Trump himself addressed her short stint at his side during a rally appearance in Fort Myers, Florida, Friday at which he said: “No wonder that poor young woman – she was a perfect, beautiful woman – when she walked into that press room and they started screaming at her, she freaked out.”Former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia insists she remains ‘ruthlessly loyal’ to President Donald Trump despite humiliation (Getty)The focus is now on whom the president might get to replace her, with rapper Nicki Minaj mooted as surprise contender after she joined him on stage in Port Huron, Michigan, Sunday and was rewarded with a compliment about having “one hell of a beautiful a**.” Other names mentioned include CNN’s conservative pundit Scott Jennings, ex-Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo and staffers Anna Kelly and Margo Martin. The president announced Zacharia as Karoline Leavitt’s successor in a message on Truth Social on Friday October 9 after being impressed with the Californian’s appearances as a pundit on right-wing media speaking out in his defense. He reportedly made the decision without consulting White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who had been attempting to convince Jennings to take the post. Zacharia’s opening press conference in the James S Brady Briefing Room lasted just 14 minutes and saw her stumble through a prepared statement, take questions from only three reporters and accidentally refer to her husband as “my president.” Trump campaigned with Nicki Minaj in Michigan Sunday, sparking speculation the rapper could be hired as Zacharia’s successor (Getty)Questions then began to arise about whether she had the legal experience she claimed and whether or not she had passed the bar exam and was entitled to call herself an attorney. Zacharia had not, it transpired, an issue she struggled to clarify in appearances on Fox News with Sean Hannity and the morning hosts on Fox and Friends, ultimately prompting Trump to call time on her after barely a week. She was reportedly sitting down for an interview with The Wall Street Journal when she heard the news, which left her the shortest-serving member of Trump’s two administrations, her five day run less than half the length of the previous record-holder Anthony Scaramucci.
