Tribeca Films Acquires Movies Starring Rachel Dratch and Miriam Shor and Rom-Com ‘A Very Merry Breakup’ (Exclusive)

Tribeca Films has acquired three movies from first-time feature filmmakers. The three movies are the Rachel Dratch starrer Loves Company, rom-com A Very Merry Breakup and Miriam Shor starrer Magic Hour. Loves Company, directed by Jason Laurits, stars Dratch as a woman who believes she’s been rescued from her lonely existence when her favorite celebrity crash lands in the Florida swamps outside her home. The comedy premiered at the 2026 Dances With Films Festival in L.A. A Very Merry Breakup is written, directed by and stars Elizabeth Guest as Lydia, a serial dater determined to change her unhealthy relationship patterns only to find herself falling in love again. The holiday rom-com features Keith Carradine, Ed Begley Jr., Pamela Guest and Nicholas Guest and won the Audience Award for best comedy feature at the 2025 Newport Beach Film Festival. Magic Hour, written and directed by Jacqueline Christy, stars Shor as a once-promising filmmaker who secretly enrolls in film school in renewed pursuit of her dream amid being alienated from her unfaithful husband and distant teenage daughter. Magic Hour has won 18 audience and jury awards and screened at 23 festivals, including the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the Hamptons International Film Festival and the Miami Film Festival. All three projects join the 2026 slate from Tribeca Films, the distribution label from Tribeca Enterprises and Giant Pictures, alongside We Are Pat, Reeling, Esta Isla, Fwends and Mabel.
