Traffic movement was affected in central Delhi on Thursday as major roads remained barricaded and heavy police deployment was seen around Connaught Place. Commuters faced inconvenience, with the outer circle of Connaught Place witnessing restrictions as Opposition leaders boarded buses amid the security arrangements.The Opposition leaders were heading towards Rajghat for a proposed Congress gathering and dharna at Kishan Ghat Road.According to the Delhi Traffic Police advisory, around 500 to 600 people led by Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav are expected to assemble at Rajghat and proceed towards Kishan Ghat Road.TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS AROUND RAJGHATCommuters travelling through Rajghat, Kishan Ghat Road and nearby stretches have been advised to avoid the affected routes where possible and plan their journeys in advance. Traffic personnel will be deployed at strategic locations to regulate traffic and manage diversions during the gathering.ALTERNATE ROUTES FOR COMMUTERSVehicles travelling from the Delhi Gate or Delhi side towards Kashmere Gate ISBT have been advised to take the JLN Marg-Minto Road-Ajmeri Gate route. From there, commuters can proceed towards New Delhi Railway Station and then take the Paharganj or Connaught Place side, depending on traffic conditions. Those travelling from Ring Road towards Rajghat and Kishan Ghat have been advised to use Mahatma Gandhi Marg or Ring Road and avoid the affected stretch.Commuters have also been advised to follow directions issued by traffic police personnel and allow extra time for their journeys.DELHI TRAFFIC POLICE ADVISORYThe Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to prefer public transport to help reduce congestion and park only at designated parking areas.
