Thornblade is one of the coolest looking and most elegant of all the Aniimo. While it isn't actually rare, a lot of players seem to have a hard time tracking it (or one of its forms) down. Well, we went looking for it, and surprise-surprise, yes, getting one of these can be annoying. In this guide we will tell you, not only where you can catch a Thornblade, but where you can catch all its variants or even how you can evolve one yourself. Grab your Aniipods, level up your Aniimo, because we're about to tell you all the ways on how you can get your hands on this Aniimo. Where To Catch Thornblade (Standard) The standard Thornblade is, obviously, the easiest one to catch. There are two ways to capture it, and one evolution method (which we don't recommend you try). Sea Of Flowers This is the earliest where you can catch a regular Thornblade (the red petal one). Simply head for the Sea of Flowers zone when the weather is clear, and look for the broken windmill (the one that looks like it's been cut in two). You can find a few Thornblades inside the building, but they won't fight you since they are quest-givers. Around the building, you can sometimes find wild Budsquires and even a red Thornblade. Unfortunately, these are rare, even when the weather is nice, so we recommend the second method. Sea Of Flowers Bloom After you unlock the Bloom in the Sea of Stars, you can Nurture it (and use a Green Shard) to make 20 Budsquires spawn. The higher the Prismatic Energy is, the better chance that some of those Budsquires will be Thornblades. We actually farmed here for a bit, and by the time we had our Prismatic Energy raised to Slight, Thornblades started to appear. Evolve A Budsquire Into A Thornblade This is, by far, the most complicated method, but we actually did it for the sake of this guide. You see, in order to evolve a Budsquire into a Thornblade, you need to evolve a Budsquire to level 26, but you also need to only have a Budsquire in your party and . . . get this... defeat a Thornblade with it (maybe a rite of passage?). We strongly believe this is needlessly complicated, but it can be done. While it's not difficult to defeat a Thornblade with a buffed Budsquire, the problem is finding one that isn't surrounded by other Aniimo. Once you engage in a fight with a Thornblade, use Budsquire's Counter to deal massive damage whenever Thornblade announces its barrage attack (the tip of its sword glows blue). Remember: Your Budsquire needs to be the only Aniimo in your party. If you capture another Aniimo (just to clear the area around Thornblade), they will automatically get added to the party, and you won't get the requirement for Budsquires evolution. Where To Catch Thunderstorm Thornblade The only place where you can catch a Thunderstorm Thornblade (the black petal version) is the Sea of Flowers … but only during rain or a thunderstorm. Thankfully, rain is more common in the Sea of Fowers than clear weather, so you may be able to capture the Thunderstorm Thornblade even before you capture the regular one. Head to the same broken windmill (the same one where the red Thornblades quest-givers are) and head to where the door of the windmill used to be. There should be a Thunderstorm Thornblade standing in front. Apparently, it's supposed to be pretty tough, but we just threw an Aniipod Mega and caught it. You also get the Pale Thorn item by defeating/capturing the Thunderstorm Thornblade. Where To Catch Towerwood Thornblade The Towerwood Thornblade looks less like a rose and more like a royal guard, and true to its look, you can find one near the ruins of an abandoned castle in Rosetower Woods. You can find one patrolling the road with three Budsquires behind it. Just throw a decent Aniipod and be done with it. You can also find a lonely one all the way behind the castle (that's the one we used to unlock Budsquire's evolution requirement). Where To Catch Prismana Thornblade Last but not least, the Prismana Thornblade. First, if you haven't reached level 40 yet, you can pick the Prismana Thornblade to be your reward for the Prismana Pact (the Event you get when you first visit the Polaris Institute). After you reach level 40 and complete the promotion quest, you can simply get a Prismana Thornblade for free. Now, assuming you went for a different Aniimo, here's how you can capture a Prismana Thornblade. To capture this elusive creature, you need a good bit of luck and a lot of Vein Essences. In the Sea of Flowers, get to the Bloom, and start raising its prismatic energy. Depending on your luck, it can take you 20 attempts or it can take you just one for the Prismana Thornblade to appear. Don't worry, as soon as it does, the game will open your map and mark its location. Just head there, use your best Aniipod (preferably a Sparkling Cube) and capture the elusive being.
