Mandatory Credit: Peter Aiken-Imagn Images Thomas Muller and Brian White scored goals about eight minutes apart bridging the two halves to lift the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 3-0 victory against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night at Kansas City, Kan. Rayan Elloumi added a goal off an assist from Muller in the 90th minute for Western Conference-leading Vancouver (13-4-4, 43 points). Whitecaps goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka recorded a clean sheet without needing to make a save. Stefan Cleveland made three saves for Kansas City (4-15-3, 15 points), which now has a six-match winless streak and occupies last place in the Western Conference. White, who was coming off a quad ailment that made his status uncertain going into the weekend, has a team-high 13 goals and Muller is next on the squad with seven goals. Muller converted a penalty kick in the 40th minute. The penalty kick was awarded after Vancouver's Bruno Caicedo drew a foul from Justin Reynolds in the penalty area. White's goal came in the 48th minute and he was assisted by Oliver Larraz, who fed a ball into the center of the box for an easy finish. Elloumi's second goal of the season put the game on ice.
