Save $200 on the rarely discounted MacBook following recent price hikes. Last year, it felt like the 2025 MacBook Air was on sale once a month. For some stretches, it quite literally was. It was also the fastest I’ve seen a new MacBook go on sale in its lifecycle. If I recall correctly, Amazon had it on sale three months after its initial launch. 2026 has been a steep departure, especially since Apple announced price hikes. At least there’s some good news: the latest MacBook Air is finally on sale. Prime Big Deal Days came through in the clutch.Right now, the 13-inch 2026 MacBook Air is 15 percent off, and we’re finally back in 2025 territory—exactly where we like it (at least in this regard). This is easily the best price we’ve seen since the initial price hikes, including the semi-recent back-to-school savings.The 2026 MacBook Air expanded on the groundbreaking 2025 version, the first of Apple’s Air series to include the powerful M5 processor. This bridged the gap between the Pro and the Air, at least performance-wise, while offering a lower price and a slimmer, sleek design. The latest version offers upgraded performance, up to 18 hours of battery life, and more AI capabilities, making it an ideal fit for the modern student. That obviously applies to the workplace, too.The 2026 Air features plenty of connectivity options, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a headphone jack (for the old-school types), a MagSafe charging port, and an Apple N1 wireless chip for Wi-Fi 7* and Bluetooth 6.There’s also a slew of school- and work-friendly add-ons, including a 2MP Center Stage camera, a convenient three-mic array, and a four-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support. The vivid 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display supports up to 1 billion colors and offers a crisp picture, which is always great for a smaller monitor (but for what it’s worth, the 15-inch Air is also on sale, along with a few other models).If you were bummed about the recent price hikes, now’s the best time to mitigate your regret of not buying one last year. You’ll realistically never see the MacBook Air at its peak 2025 sale prices again, but hey, at least we’re in the ballpark of last year’s retail territory.
