The 1975’s Matty Healy to get married this weekend in A-list location with celebrity guests and dress code he won’t like

HE’S the grungy rocker who can usually be seen in oversized clothes and with messy hair. But The 1975’s Matty Healy will have to properly scrub up when he gets married this weekend, as I’ve been told his bride-to-be has enforced an old Hollywood glamour dress code. Either venue would team with the theme and it sounds like it’s going to be a massive celebration. His parents, actors Denise Welch and Tim Healy, flew to Los Angeles last week ahead for the pre-wedding celebrations. Matty had a party last Saturday coinciding with England’s game against Norway, which counted as his first stag do. Then he had another do this week where he jammed with The 1975 cover band The 9075, which he flew out to Malibu from the UK. Most read in Showbiz Denise shared a photo on Instagram from the event with several of Matty’s pals, including Grimmy and his fiance Meshach Henry, wearing a fan around her neck and added the caption: “Surrounded by my fans . . . sorry, fan!” The timing of Matty’s nuptials are amusing, given they are just a fortnight after his high-profile ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift married American football player Travis Kelce in New York. Matty and Taylor had a brief romance in 2023 then got together with their respective partners just months later. Matty proposed to Gabbriette in June 2024, while Travis proposed to Taylor last August. But it was the Shake It Off singer who made it down the aisle first. Radio 1 breakfast host Greg James was at that ceremony, while it’s the edgier 6 Music breakfast DJ, Grimmy, who is going to Matty’s.
