A TV fitness expert has told of his relief at being cleared of a plot to kill his boss with a fruit and nut chocolate bar. Jody Bunting, 48, spoke after a three-year ordeal following his arrest for the attempted murder of Kimberley Hoskins, who has a severe cocoa allergy. Police dropped the case after 18 months but he still had to fight an employment tribunal case, now finally withdrawn. Jody, who appeared on Channel 4’s Big Breakfast, said: “My life was turned upside down. “My bail conditions were not to go to the hotel so I lost my job.” He admits he took the sharing bar into Derby’s Mickleover Court Hotel Leisure Club because he knew manager Ms Hoskins was off work. Leftover chunks were found when she returned two days later so she went home and a deep clean was carried out. She later went back and went into anaphylactic shock in the storeroom before receiving an emergency EpiPen injection. She was then taken to hospital, and spent five days in intensive care. In legal papers, Ms Hoskins alleged he was “plotting with colleagues to throw chocolate into my office to get rid of me”. But Jody said: “I’m glad she’s okay, what happened was awful.”
