Teen accused of planning violent attack, having extremist material

September 22, 2026 — 9:08amA teenager is accused of planning a fatal attack north of Brisbane.Police said they found plans for a local attack on people and violent extremist material when counter-terror officers raided a home in Maryborough, 215 kilometres north of Brisbane, on August 27.Several electronic devices were seized during the raid.The boy was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Childrens Court on Tuesday.Start the day with a summary of the day’s most important and interesting stories, analysis and insights.
