TAG Heuer’s Most Fun Watch Just Got Even Funner

Few watches have inspired frenzy quite like TAG Heuer’s wildly popular Formula 1 collection. Launched as a series of special editions with Kith in 2024 and then expanded into a permanent line in April 2025, its affordability, wide array of configurations, youthful colorways, and choice of strap or bracelet models quickly gave it Beanie Baby-esque market dynamics. Though the hype has given way to a more solid and constant hunger since the release of the permanent collection, TAG keeps finding new ways to reignite the fire.Today, the brand adds two new electric limited-edition references, WBY111H.FT8128 and WBY111L.BA0042, that celebrate the final Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. Situated along the wild North Sea coast, this shorter F1 route is dictated by the topography of the local sand dunes, making it a particularly exciting location for a high-speed race. The color orange—a mainstay of Dutch national identity—figures heavily in both watches, from the bi-directional TH Polylight bezel to the grey dial’s outer minute track to the rubber strap that ships with the WBY111H.FT8128. In both cases, a rare combination of subdued and fiery hues makes for a unique look that feels particularly appropriate for summertime wear. The watch on a strap comes in at $2,150 and $2,250 on bracelet. Both will be available online for preorder at approximately 5 a.m. next Tuesday, August 18th, according to a countdown on TH's website.The limited-edition watch feels especially finite because its inspiration is coming to an end. The fact that 2026 will be the last iteration of the Dutch Grand Prix for the foreseeable future makes this watch feel extra special.Thankfully, you don’t have to be an F1 aficionado to appreciate Circuit Zandvoort’s influence on TAG’s new Formula 1. Housed within a barrel-shaped 38mm stainless steel case with brushed finishing, a signed crown, and the collection’s aforementioned bi-directional 60-minute bezel, it’s topped off with a flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment that protects the matte grey dial. In addition to the orange minute track inset with red indices, it also features applied shield and round indices with red-accented surrounds and a red handset, both of which are filled with eggshell-colored Super-LumiNova. Even though orange isn’t my go-to color, it’s tough to deny this Formula 1’s appeal.At the heart of the watch is TAG Heuer’s Solargraph cal. TH50-00, a solar-powered movement with an impressive spec sheet: while a one-minute charge will power the watch for a full day, a 40-hour charge will provide enough juice for 10 months of timekeeping—even in total darkness. What’s more, a 15-year battery life means that the Solargraph requires the absolute minimum maintenance, and can be enjoyed for years on end without need for service. This movement is tailor-made for someone who prizes convenience in their watches.With its cool colorway, 100m of water resistance, two strap choices, and solar-powered movement, the new Zandvoort-inspired TAG Heuer Formula 1 is a great watch to close out the summer. With only a hundred-dollar price difference between the strap model and the bracelet model, we’d recommend springing for the latter—though frankly, either will do nicely as the mercury rises this August. Limited to 1,500 pieces on rubber and 1,000 on steel, both are sure to go quickly, paving the way for whatever cool colorway TAG Heuer comes up with next.
