SVIMS Director aims to improve patient services for needy

Jagadish, who took over the reins of the TTD-run super specialty hospital recently, announced plans to strengthen the patient-centric medical services offered to the poor and the needy.During an inspection of the various wards at the hospital here on Monday, Mr. Jagdish visited the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU), casualty, extension casualty wings and learned about their functioning from their respective heads and staff members. He also inspected the functionality of the medical equipment, and the preparedness of the staff in providing critical care, among others.The Director also interacted with few patients in order to understand their time of arrival, the time it took to receive diagnosis and treatment, the quality of service, and response time. He reminded the staff members about the importance of time when handling emergency cases and directed that preliminary diagnosis, expert consultation, and life-saving treatment should be made available to the patients upon arrival.The nursing and paramedical staff should be readily available in the emergency wing, as patients from across Rayalaseema region visit the hospital everyday, Dr. Jagadish said. At the casualty and intensive care units, he inspected the functioning of ventilators, monitors, defibrillators, oxygen supply, suction units, besides the availability of medical supplies.
