Students visit the Narsapur coaching depot as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva-2026 campaign in the Vijayawada division of South Coast Railway on Thursday. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement School students were taken to the Narsapur and Vijayawada coaching depots and the Electric Loco Shed as part of the “Swachhata Gyan Yatra” under the Swachhata Hi Seva-2026 campaign, which began in South Coast Railway (SCoR) on Thursday (September 17, 2026).During the visit, students were shown the coach washing lines, waste management in the railways and measures being taken to maintain hygiene in trains and on platforms, Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya said.The DRM, who administered the Swachhata Pledge, appealed to passengers and vendors to cooperate with railway employees and the sanitation staff in keeping the premises clean.Railway employees, “safai mitras” and other workers took the pledge, reaffirming their commitment to keeping stations, running trains and station premises clean.
