STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Jowita Przystał has opened up about “losing herself” and “letting go” – just as her ex Giovanni Pernice gets ready to unleash his bombshell book. The Sun was first to reveal how the two ballroom dancers had enjoyed a secret romance shortly after Jowita, 32, won the series with Hamza Yassin, 36, back in 2022. Jowita posted a slew of pics from over the year since her last birthday, which included Strictly highlights, trips abroad, and nights out. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! The star then penned a thoughtful caption which read: “Birthday reflection… Sometimes we move through life so quickly that we don’t stop to notice how much we’ve grown, how much we’ve changed or how many things we’ve experienced along the way. “This past year gave me so many beautiful memories…There were beautiful days, difficult days, moments of certainty and moments when I had no idea what I was doing. “I grew, I changed, I learned, I let go, and in some ways, I found parts of myself I didn’t even know I had lost. And maybe that’s what life is really about.” The star ended the lengthy post with: “So, here’s to 32. The memoir is officially out on Thursday, but extracts from the autobiography have already been released. Most read in Reality The book promises to be explosive, with Giovanni spilling the beans on his life in the spotlight which is bound to include his array of high profile ex-girlfriends – which, along with Jowita, includes ex-Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote and Love Island legend Maura Higgins. Gio: Taking the Lead also documents his fall out with the BBC after he was axed from Strictly following the Amanda Abbington claims, which in the book says left him “suicidal”. Jowita and Giovanni had a whirlwind romance four years ago, after falling for each other backstage during the 20th season of Strictly. A source told The Sun at the time: “Jo and Gio are the worst kept secret, but make a great couple.” The pair kept the blossoming relationship secret for weeks, but it was over three months later, An insider said: “Although their relationship has ended Giovanni and Jowita said they will stay good friends. It is just a shame they couldn’t make it work.”
