Most-played games range from Clair Obscur to Civ to Elden Ring to Halo 2 and beyond. Steam makes it really easy to stack up a seemingly endless library of games, making countless games completely free to download every year. While not every game is of the highest caliber, there are some truly hidden gems, and considering these games come at no cost, it's not a huge loss if every game isn't your cup of tea. With so many releases appearing on the storefront, though, finding the best free games can feel like a challenge in itself. Some disappear into obscurity almost immediately, while others build dedicated communities despite having little marketing behind them. That's especially true for smaller indie projects, which can take chances on unusual ideas that bigger studios might never touch. Whether you're after a quick horror experience, something to play with friends, or an addictive new farming or city-builder sim, Steam's free catalog has a ridiculous amount of variety. And starting today, Steam users can snag three new free games to keep in their library forever, including a 10/10 user-rated gem. As of today (November 3), Steam users can now download the following games entirely for free: Corner Pocket: World Billiards Agent of Strange: Arrival Caldra Steam users have three more free games to check out, beginning with Corner Pocket: World Billiards, which launched on November 1. Developed by Maple Ridge Haven, this 3D billiards simulator features eight different variations of pool, including American 8-ball, 9-ball, snooker, British Blackball, and Russian Free Pyramid. Players can compete online against others, invite friends, or enjoy single-player matches across seven different pool halls. The game features realistic physics, allowing players to adjust their camera angles, control the strength of their shots, and apply spin to the cue ball. Even more impressively, Corner Pocket currently has a perfect 100% positive user-review score on Steam, effectively a 10/10 approval rate, although that's based on a relatively small number of early reviews. Next is Agent of Strange: Arrival, a free standalone prologue to an upcoming RPG from Sever, the studio behind The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante. Released on November 2, this dark psychological thriller takes place in a mysterious early 20th-century city controlled by the oppressive Traum Family. Players assume the role of a Conspirator attempting to overthrow the regime, with gameplay revolving around decision-making, investigation, stealth, and character development. Different approaches will change how missions unfold, making it an intriguing option for fans of narrative-driven RPGs. Importantly, this is only the opening chapter of the larger upcoming game. Finally, Caldra is a competitive online deck-building game from developer Dolphin Star. Players build their decks during matches by purchasing and selling cards using earned coins, with every decision potentially changing the outcome of battle. Matches follow a best-of-three format, emphasizing resource management, strategic decisions, and anticipating an opponent's next move. Caldra officially reached its full release on November 3 after spending several months in Early Access. However, there's an unfortunate catch: its developer has announced that the game's online service will shut down on or after December 13, 2026, meaning interested players should consider trying this one sooner rather than later on Steam.
