Steam Makes 4 Hit Games Absolutely Free Until August 3

Published Jul 31, 2026, 5:33 AM EDT Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there. Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers. The weekend has returned once more, giving us ample opportunity to get stuck into some free games. With game prices increasing on a yearly basis, it is no wonder that maintaining this hobby is becoming more and more difficult. However, Steam is here to save the day once again with the PC storefront currently giving away four hit games for absolutely free. The catch here is that this is a limited-time offer, with the games heading back to full price in just three days. So, without further ado, let us take a look at the games available to play at no cost this weekend. 4 Tower Dominion In this tower defense, base-building title, players will be tasked with building and designing the terrain whilst defending their stronghold against an alien invasion. With up to 30 heroes to choose from, each with their own unique ability, Tower Dominion requires you to survive waves of enemies as you battle to fend them off, all whilst maintaining your fortress with regular upgrades and repairs. With a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam, it seems as though this tower defense roguelike is a hidden gem you can dive into this weekend. 3 Necesse In Necesse, players will need to build, quest and conquer a large procedurally generated world. This open-world survival craft game can be enjoyed alone or with friends and even has a touch of Stardew Valley about it with gameplay consisting of establishing a settlement and heading into the dungeons. It is here that you will take part in epic fights, mine rare ores, craft magical equipment, recruit specialists for your colony, and much more. With another 'Very Positive' rating on Steam, it seems as though Necesse is not one to miss out on. 2 WWE 2K26 Despite only launching back in March, WWE 2K26 is already free to play for a limited time. As the latest entry in the WWE 2K series, WWE 2K26 will see you dominate the ring with over 400 fighters, including The Rock, Triple H, John Cena, Rhea Ripley, and fan-favorites like Rey Fénix, Rusev, and Blake Monroe, you will also be able to take on multiple modes (including brand-new additions), and showcase your skills in brutal hand-to-hand combat. Unfortunately, WWE 2K26 currently sits at a 'Mixed' rating on Steam, but as with every game, I highly encourage making your mind up for yourself, and what better way to do so now that it is free for a limited time? 1 Reaper Actual Last, but by no means least, is Reaper Actual, an open-world shooter where hundreds of players can take to the battlefield on the war-torn island of Marova. Take on the role of the soldiers, known as Reapers, as you fight, leveling them up along the way in order to unlock brand-new equipment and abilities. Not only that, but you will need to maintain your homebase and complete missions in order to accumulate more resources and gear. If you are looking for a simple FPS to play this weekend, look no further than Reaper Actual.
