Steady Holiday Announces New Album It’s Your Trip: Hear “New Generation”

It's been a few years since Steady Holiday, the one-woman project from LA musician Dre Babinski, released the album Newfound Oxygen. Babinski followed that LP with last year's one-off single "Seasonal Optimism." Later this fall, she'll come out with It's Your Trip, a new album inspired by brain-altering experience of becoming a parent. Babinski recorded It's Your Trip with producer Kosta G. Lead single "New Generation" is a sparkling, jazzy chamber-pop number with some heartbreakingly relatable lyrics: "I want to renew faith in a world that wouldn’t let you down/ Faith in a world that’ll make you proud." Here's what she says:It’s Your Trip is an album about my first impressions of parenthood, written through the haze of postpartum. The album would ideally wax poetic on the messiness and beauty of being a new parent, if I had the time to. Instead, this is my succinct take on a new chapter and the (mostly) welcomed new identities that come along with it. Not all roses, not all doom and gloom. Much like everything Steady Holiday, it’s somewhere in between.The Isaac Ravishankara-directed "New Generation" video shows an aburd but beatific vision of what it's like to care for a small child.
