It aims to support up to 100 start-ups over a three-year period, with a total allocation of ₹25 crore.According to the Minister, the key objective of the initiative is to create early market opportunities for start-ups developing new technologies and innovative solutions. Rather than functioning merely as a buyer, the government is establishing a system where it can become the first customer to adopt innovative solutions and a partner in fostering innovation, he said in a release. The initiative covers a range of services and technology-based solutions, including information technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, consultancy services, design, and transportation systems.Start-ups wanting to be part of this scheme can work on solutions to problems identified by various government departments. They are also allowed to think proactively and come up with innovative solutions to support the government.Eligible startups will receive support of up to ₹25 lakh each for pilot deployment and evaluation. Of the total ₹25 crore grant, 95% (amounting to ₹23.75 crore) has been earmarked for supporting startups, while 5% (amounting to ₹1.25 crore) has been allocated towards administrative expenses.
