St. Xavier 4-star SG Josh Lindsay continues to hear from Kentucky, Louisville

Class of 2028 recruit Josh Lindsay put together a solid week of basketball at the Nike Peach Jam in North Augusta, SC. College coaches from all over the country stopped by to check out his MOKAN Elite squad, including ones from a pair of in-state schools not far from his high school. Lindsay, who helped lead Louisville (KY) St. Xavier to the Sweet 16 championship game as a sophomore back in the spring, spoke with KSR at Peach Jam to update us on his recruitment and talk about his game. Considered the 36th-best rising junior (and the best in KY) in the country by the Rivals Industry Ranking, Lindsay has received offers from the likes of Auburn, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, Xavier, Dayton, and more. While the top Bluegrass State programs, Kentucky and Louisville, have yet to extend him a scholarship officially, the Wildcats and Cardinals are paying close attention to the 6-foot-1 shooting guard. “Louisville, Kentucky, Auburn have pretty much been on me since I really started playing,” Lindsay told KSR, adding that other schools are beginning to ramp up their interest. Alabama recently reached out, too. Lindsay has already taken multiple unofficial visits to see both Louisville and Kentucky over the years. He was at Rupp Arena for Kentucky’s win over Bellarmine in December and wants to return to Lexington for another trip next season. Assistant coach Cody Fueger has been his main point of contact at UK so far. “He calls me almost every week, checks on me,” Lindsay said. New assistant coach Mo Williams has also been in touch. Williams even watched Lindsay play on Friday at Peach Jam, when he dropped 14 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals in an 85-78 win over Alabama Fusion. Lindsay is also a fan of Kentucky head coach Mark Pope. “I like Mark Pope,” Lindsay said. “He gets down with his players. He looks out for them; he helps them.” At Peach Jam, Lindsay was an impact player for a MOKAN Elite team that went 4-2 throughout the week. Across those six games, he averaged 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per outing, headlined by a 24-point, eight-rebound outing to open the event last Tuesday. Most fans might know about Lindsay from his highlight dunks, but there’s more to his game than what pops up on social media feeds. “I’m much more of a shooter than people think I am,” Lindsay said. “I feel like my three-pointer is very underestimated. And my driving ability. I can go get finishes over bigs, crafty finishes, get down and get fouled. Just attacking at will.” Now that Peach Jam is in the books, summer basketball will begin to wind down for Lindsay. He’s planning to schedule a couple of visits in October, but did not name the schools he’s looking at.
