St Kitts PM sent overseas for medical observation

On Sunday, the prime minister, a medical doctor, went to the Joseph N France General Hospital in the capital, Basseterre, complaining of mild discomfort, nausea, and a headache, the Cabinet Secretariat said in an official statement on his health early on Monday. The secretariat said he was immediately admitted for observation and a thorough clinical evaluation. The medical team and specialists at the JNF General Hospital attended to him over an 18-hour period. Following comprehensive analysis and diagnostic reviews, his treating physicians are satisfied with his overall condition, confirming that he remained awake, alert, and stable, the statement added. Dr Drew, the two-island federation’s fourth prime minister since independence in 1983, took office in August 2022 after leading the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party to victory in the general election.
